NVIDIA Announces GTC 2024 Returns to San Jose’s McEnery Convention Center as a Physical Event

In the wake of the pandemic’s influence over the past few years, the traditionally spring-hosted GTC conference was modified to a virtual format. Yet, with the pandemic gradually easing and nations worldwide beginning to resume commercial and tourism activities, NVIDIA has finally announced its intention to host GTC 2024 as a physical event.

The conference has been definitively scheduled to take place from March 18th to 21st, 2024, with the location confirmed as the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, GTC 2024 is poised to concentrate on the next generation of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing accelerators, namely the successors of the ‘Hopper’ codenamed H100 GPU. It is anticipated that details about the successor to the ‘Grace’ codenamed CPU will be revealed, and the unveiling of a new Superchip configuration could be expected.

The name of the subsequent accelerator has yet to be publicly announced by NVIDIA, with the temporary title ‘Hopper Next’ serving as a placeholder. Despite market rumors hinting at ‘Blackwell’ as the potential codename for the next product, it would likely pertain to a graphics card tailored to the consumer market, rather than an accelerator product designed for high-performance computing applications.
