Nokia launches Beacon 10 – The ultimate Wi-Fi 6E tri-band gateway
Nokia has announced the release of Beacon 10, its first multi-gigabit Wi-Fi 6E gateway that offers seamless and high-capacity mesh networking. As a true tri-band (2.4 GHz/5 GHz/6 GHz) device, it provides Wi-Fi throughput speeds of up to 10 Gbps and comes equipped with a 10 Gbps WAN port that can be paired with a 10 Gb/s fiber modem.
Through Nokia’s Wi-Fi mesh network, Beacon 10 can create a seamless Wi-Fi 6E network throughout the entire home, with true tri-band configuration that fully utilizes the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands. Beacon 10 is equipped with a 10 Gbps WAN port, which not only provides high-speed internet connectivity but also enables high-speed LAN connectivity through its 2.5 Gbps LAN port and 10 Gbps Wi-Fi.
According to Nokia, the 2.4 GHz band of Beacon 10 is based on 2×2 MIMO, while the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands are based on 4×4 MIMO, enabling Wi-Fi speeds of up to 10 Gbps, while also supporting 160 MHz channels. Nokia’s Wi-Fi mobile application provides iOS and Android versions, which include many useful features, from traffic analysis to parental controls, and can achieve fast network setup and simple management.
In large houses or multi-story buildings, users can also use up to five Beacon 10s to extend the coverage of the network. Nokia’s Wi-Fi mobile application can guide customers on how to install and extend their Wi-Fi network by simply scanning a QR code, providing tips on how to connect Beacon 10 and where to place it, and even helping customers find the best location by testing Wi-Fi signals.
