Noctua introduces CPU coolers for AMD’s new Threadripper and Epyc processors

Yesterday, AMD ceremoniously unveiled its Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series processors. In comparison to the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000, the Threadripper 7000 series has not only witnessed enhancements in architecture, core count, L3 cache, and CPU base frequency, but its performance has also seen a substantial uplift. Furthermore, it introduces the novel TR5 and SP6 sockets, with a TDP soaring to 350W.

Following this announcement, the renowned cooling behemoth, Noctua, declared the launch of its novel NH-U14S TR5-SP6 and NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U CPU coolers. They are compatible with AMD’s TR5 (sTR5/sTRX5/sWRX9) and SP6 sockets, catering to the Ryzen 7000 series Threadripper HEDT, Threadripper Pro workstation processors, and the 8004 series Epyc server CPUs.

The NH-U14S TR5-SP6 prides itself on delivering high performance with minimal noise. It is equipped with dual NF-A15 fans, six efficient heat pipes, and radiating fins encompassing an area surpassing 6000cm2. On the other hand, the NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U boasts a dual-tower quad heat pipe design with a height of merely 134mm, tailored chiefly for users employing 4U-sized chassis. Both coolers come pre-applied with Noctua’s proprietary NT-H2 thermal paste, ensuring an optimal interface between the cooler’s base and the processor’s surface for efficient heat transfer. Besides the two coolers, Noctua has separately introduced the NM-TR5-SP6 mounting kit, allowing users to upgrade existing coolers of the TR4-SP3, DX-4677, DX-4189, and DX-3647 series for compatibility with the new platform.

The  pricing for these innovative products is as follows:

  • NH-U14S TR5-SP6: €129.9/ $129.9
  • NH-D9 TR5-SP6 4U: €119.9/ $119.90
  • NM-TR5-SP6: €19.9/ $19.9

Commencing from the dawn of October, these products will be available for purchase through Noctua’s official Amazon store, while domestic e-commerce platforms will soon follow suit in listing them for sale.
