Nintendo plans to use the newly purchased land for the construction of a new game development center, called “Corporate Headquarters Development Center, Building No. 2 (tentative name)”, to accommodate new development teams and strengthen game development work. The new game development center is a 12-floor steel-framed building with a construction area of about 38,000 square meters and a height of about 72 meters. The completion date is expected to be December 2027.

Last year, there were media reports that Nintendo plans to increase the number of internal staff and expand the game development team to reduce the need for outsourcing game development. The outside world speculates that Nintendo is doing this to further improve the quality of the game. Compared with games developed by third parties, the average quality of games developed by Nintendo will be higher.

Nintendo’s next game to be released is Nintendo Switch Sports, which will be released on April 29 and developed by Nintendo EPD.
