Nintendo acquires land adjacent to its headquarters
Nintendo announced that it will spend 5 billion yen (approximately $39,6 million) to purchase a piece of municipal land next to its Kyoto headquarters with an area of 10,028.55 square meters.
Nintendo plans to use the newly purchased land for the construction of a new game development center, called “Corporate Headquarters Development Center, Building No. 2 (tentative name)”, to accommodate new development teams and strengthen game development work. The new game development center is a 12-floor steel-framed building with a construction area of about 38,000 square meters and a height of about 72 meters. The completion date is expected to be December 2027.
Nintendo’s next game to be released is Nintendo Switch Sports, which will be released on April 29 and developed by Nintendo EPD.
