Netflix may launch a gaming business

It is reported that the top streaming service Netflix is developing a set of its own game service, and the form will be similar to Apple Arcade.

A source familiar with Netflix’s plans tells Axios that Netflix is to develop a set similar to Apple Arcade but on a small scale, a collection of mobile games without ads, which is only available to users who have subscribed to Netflix. Recalling that Netflix currently has more than 200 million subscribers, the potential benefits here are also great.

The source also said that this plan is currently only in the early planning stage, and will not meet with you until 2022 at the earliest. They also revealed that these games will be adapted from the Netflix series. It is not clear whether these new games will be developed by Netflix itself, or will be outsourced to existing game companies for development.

Netflix has not announced any game-related plans to the public. The report reveals that “Netflix has been dabbling with games for some time. In addition to its interactive shows, it has a growing roster of series based on video game properties, including “The Witcher,” “Castlevania,” “Assassin’s Creed,” and more.”

Currently, half of Netflix’s users are from the United States. Netflix can still be said to be the big brother of drama movie streaming, but with the development of services like Disney+ and Apple TV, Netflix has to face increasingly fierce competition.
However, for non-gaming circles, or for companies with inexperienced game development, it is not easy to enter the game industry, so what kind of game service Netflix will eventually launch, and whether the quality of the game is as good as their episodes is still unknown.
