Multiple MSI Intel 800 series motherboards passed certification
Yesterday, Gigabyte celebrated the 10th anniversary of its AORUS brand on social media and began teasing the showcase of “next-generation motherboards” at the upcoming Computex 2024. Although the teaser did not mention specific models, the silhouette of a motherboard in the accompanying image led VideoCardz to speculate that it is likely the Z890 AORUS XTREME motherboard.
According to data from Device-Report, several MSI Intel 800 series motherboards have recently received certification. These include not only high-end models with the Z890 chipset but also several mainstream models featuring the B860 chipset. The specific models are as follows:

- MEG Z890 UNIFY-X
- MEG Z890 CARBON WIFI
- MPG Z890 EDGE TI WIFI
- MPG Z890I EDGE TI WIFI
- MAG Z890 TOMAHAWK WIFI
- PRO Z890-P WIFI
- MPG B860M EDGE TI WIFI
- MPG B860I EDGE WIFI
- MAG B860 TOMAHAWK WIFI
- MAG B860M MORTAR WIFI
MSI has maintained its traditional product naming conventions for this batch of Intel 800 series motherboards, covering form factors including mini-ITX, mATX, and ATX. Additionally, the UNIFY-X series, which was absent in MSI’s Intel 700 series motherboards, makes a return. This ATX board, designed with dual memory slots, is expected to offer further optimization and, supported by the new generation of Ultra series processors and the Z890 chipset, provide a distinctive overclocking experience.
At Computex 2023, MSI showcased the MEG Z790 ACE MAX, MPG Z790 CARBON MAX WIFI, MPG Z790 EDGE MAX WIFI, and MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI Intel Z790 MAX series motherboards. These featured some design changes and were upgraded to support Wi-Fi 7. The MEG Z790 ACE MAX and MPG Z790 CARBON MAX WIFI also upgraded from 2.5G to 5G wired networks, offering robust and stable performance and network speeds. MSI has yet to provide a preview of the products to be exhibited at Computex 2024, but with product certifications now in place, new models will likely be unveiled shortly.
