MSI MAG B650 motherboard running AMD Ryzen 7000 series up to 1.532V

Recently, Twitter user @9550pro posted a picture with the content “AM4 has completed its historical mission, a new era is coming“. In the picture you can see some of the BIOS information displayed on the screen, a platform using an MSI MAG B650 motherboard, running a CPU with a core voltage of up to 1.532V.

Not much, but enough to guess more information. The MAG series belongs to MSI’s motherboard products, while the B650 is AMD’s next-generation mainstream chipset, which is part of the AM5 platform. It can basically be confirmed that the AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPUs running on it will be released in a few months. This shows that a new generation of AMD mid-range platforms for mainstream users is on the way, and manufacturers are closely following AMD’s new product release schedule.

However, what is more surprising is the core voltage of 1.532V. I am not sure whether it is an information error or the relationship between engineering samples. It may also be testing the overclocking ability of the CPU. Joseph Tao, AMD Memory Enabling Manager, has previously confirmed that AMD’s first-generation DDR5 gaming platform will be Raphael based on the Zen 4 architecture and said that there will be a big leap in overclocking.
