MSI Goes Quiet on AMD Radeon RX 7000 Series

Recently, enthusiasts have noticed that AMD Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards are increasingly difficult to find on MSI’s official website, sparking considerable interest among gamers. MSI has yet to release any products based on the Radeon RX 7700/7800 XT, and these developments have occurred rather quietly.

In response to this issue, MSI stated HardwareLuxx confirming that the company is currently prioritizing GeForce graphics cards, but this does not imply that they have abandoned Radeon cards.

Regarding our focus, we are indeed concentrating more on the GeForce RTX series products at present. Nevertheless, our collaboration with AMD remains essential and vitally important. We have observed very positive developments, particularly in the motherboard sector.

According to HardwareUnboxed, MSI has suspended the production of Radeon graphics cards. While the statement from MSI did not explicitly confirm this, there is evidence suggesting that MSI has shifted its product line focus, as evidenced by the absence of Radeon RX 7700/7800 XT products. To date, MSI has released 147 models of GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards, compared to only four Radeon RX 7000 series models.

On December 13, 2022, AMD launched its new generation of RDNA 3 architecture-based Radeon RX 7900 XTX and Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics cards. At that time, non-reference cards from brands such as ASUS, Sapphire, PowerColor, and Biostar were available, yet MSI was conspicuously absent. It wasn’t until January 2023 that MSI launched the Radeon RX 7900 GAMING TRIO CLASSIC series graphics cards. Not only was MSI’s release later, but the models and supply were also limited.

Following this trend, it is anticipated that MSI may not be very active in adopting AMD’s next-generation RDNA 4 architecture products.
