MSI announced the launch of its water-cooled radiator compatible with Intel LGA 1700 platform

Intel is about to release the 12th generation of Core series processors, as the first desktop platform x86 processor with big.LITTLE hybrid architecture, and also Intel’s first desktop processor based on the 10nm SuperFin process, Alder Lake has made changes in many aspects, such as replacing it with an LGA 1700 socket. For users, if the radiator manufacturer does not provide matching new fasteners, the existing radiator cannot be used on the new generation platform.

Recently, MSI announced that all of its integrated water-cooled radiators will provide fasteners for Intel’s new-generation platform, supporting LGA 1700 sockets. The current MEG CORELIQUID S series, MAG CORELIQUID C series, and MAG CORELIQUID P series will all provide relevant fasteners in the package. If it is the sold MPG CORELIQUID K series and MAG CORELIQUID R series, it can support the new platform through the upgrade kit.

CORELIQUID Upgrade Kit

MSI integrated water-cooled radiators that can be used in the LGA 1700 socket upgrade kit include:

  • MPG CORELIQUID K360
  • MPG CORELIQUID K240
  • MAG CORLIQUID 360R
  • MAG CORELIQUID 280R
  • MAG CORELIQUID 240R
At present, users who have purchased the MSI MPG CORELIQUID K series and MAG CORELIQUID R series in some regions can fill in relevant information on MSI’s official page from November 4, 2021, to April 30, 2022, and apply for corresponding upgrades for a free kit.

It is worth noting that the time of MSI’s activity starts on November 4, 2021, which is earlier than the previously rumored November 19, which Means that the first Alder Lake-S processors are very close to consumers. There is no timetable for motherboard manufacturers to launch the Z690 motherboards. These motherboards will appear with the 12th-generation Core series processors with suffixes “K” and “KF”.
