Minisforum V3 will be equipped with AMD R7 8840U
Last month, Minisforum made its debut in an online presentation, unveiling the V3 as the world’s first AMD AI-integrated three-in-one tablet, a claim that signifies a pioneering venture into new technological realms. Alongside the launch of the official website preview page, detailed specifications were disclosed.
Minisforum has since updated the V3 product page, indicating that it will be powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor. Fabricated using TSMC’s 4nm process, the chip features eight cores and sixteen threads, constructed on the Zen 4 architecture, with base and boost frequencies of 3.3 GHz and 5.1 GHz, respectively. It boasts a 16MB L3 cache and Radeon 780M integrated graphics, comprising 12 Compute Units based on the RDNA 3 architecture, paired with the Ryzen AI engine and an NPU delivering up to 16 TOPS of compute power, with a configurable TDP of 15-30W.
The V3 tablet measures 318 x 213.8 x 9.8 mm and weighs 946g, featuring a magnesium alloy unibody design. It sports a 14-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a resolution of 2560 x 1600, a refresh rate of 165Hz, a brightness of 500 nits, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. It supports MPP2.6 stylus input with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity; up to 32GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory; and up to 2TB of storage on an M.2 2280 SSD. The device incorporates a dual-fan and quad-heat pipe cooling system to facilitate the release of 28W of performance; supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3; houses a 50.82Wh battery; and comes with a 65W PD fast charger.
Furthermore, the device is equipped with two USB4 ports (supporting Alt PD), a USB-C shaped DP-in, a 3.5mm audio jack, an SD card reader, a front-facing 2MP webcam with Windows Hello support, and a rear 5MP camera with autofocus. It comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro.
