Microsoft will soon push Windows 11 Preview builds to the Beta channel
According to the support announcement issued by Microsoft, the Windows 11 preview version will soon be released to the test channel. Currently, this type of preview version is only available to developers channel users.
It seems that Microsoft already feels that the stability of the Windows 11 preview version meets certain requirements, so it can be pushed to the test channel for more users to test.
It should be emphasized that “NOTE: Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel on 21H1 will not receive this update. We will be flighting Windows 11 Insider Preview builds to these Insiders soon!”
Microsoft notes the Beta ring is “Ideal for early adopters. Insiders and IT Professionals in the Beta Channel can check out upcoming Windows features, while still getting relatively reliable updates that are validated by Microsoft.”
The difference between the beta channel and the development channel is that there is a delay between the version numbers, that is, some versions tested by the development channel will be pushed to the users of the beta channel.
The specific version depends on Microsoft’s stability test of these versions, if certain requirements are met, Microsoft will release it to the beta channel to expand the test surface.
So if you happen to be in the Windows 10 Beta channel at this time, and you don’t want to upgrade to Windows 11, you can choose to stop and launch the test now.
Otherwise, your system will be automatically upgraded to the Windows 11 preview version later, of course, if you want to roll back to Windows 10 at that time, you can.
Also, need to be reminded that the Windows 11 preview version pushed by the system needs to verify the hardware compatibility. If it does not meet the compatibility requirements, it will prompt that it cannot be installed.
