Microsoft will launch HDR Calibration app to help Windows 11 users solve screen display problems

It is said that the Microsoft Xbox game console has an Xbox HDR calibration program. This calibration program can help the monitor and the game better cooperate, and use HDR display technology to present the best picture to the player. However, Windows does not have such a program, so when using an HDR display on Windows 10/11, there may sometimes be a loss of visual detail in the bright part of the screen and a loss of detail in the dark part.
To address this, Microsoft announced that Windows systems will get their own HDR calibration routine, and soon color consistency and accuracy issues on PC monitors will be a thing of the past. It’s just that it’s unclear when the Windows HDR calibration app will be available on the Microsoft Store for users to download and use.

Microsoft said that it is currently actively testing the HDR Calibration app in the Windows 11 development channel. Users of the development version can go to HDR display calibration under System, Display, and HDR settings to view details. However, this feature is still under development and needs to wait for the calibration app to be released on the shelves.

Ana, Microsoft’s graphics program manager, said that certified monitors usually work out of the box without calibration, but Microsoft still recommends users the Windows HDR Calibration procedure for the best experience.
