Microsoft will end support Internet Explorer 10 on Tuesday, February 11, 2020
Many companies still run traditional applications through the Internet Explorer browser. Support for Internet Explorer 10 and earlier versions has ended on January 12, 2016, and support for IE 10 for Windows Server 2012 and Windows Embedded 8 Standard will also be discontinued next month. Microsoft is now notifying companies, requires its migration to IE 11 browser.
Beginning in January 2019, Microsoft has urged Windows Server 2012 and Windows Embedded 8 Standard customers to migrate to IE 11 browsers.
Currently, IE 11 is marked as an “optional update” in Windows Update and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), and users can also download the stand-alone installation package of IE 11 through the Microsoft Update Catalog.
However, starting in February 2020, “optional updates” in Update Catalog and WSUS will be marked as “recommended” updates. For users using Windows Update, the package will be marked in the “Important” section.
“Once you have installed Internet Explorer 11 on your devices, we recommend that you also install the latest “Cumulative Update for Internet Explorer 11” for Windows Server 2012 and Windows Embedded 8 Standard to remain secure. Later in 2020, updates for Internet Explorer 11 will be included into the Monthly Rollup and continue to be available as “Cumulative Update Internet Explorer 11” in the Microsoft Update Catalog and WSUS.”
The final update of IE 10 will be released on February 11, 2020, which is the February Tuesday event day of this year.
