Microsoft will completely ban Wi-Fi WEP and TKIP in Windows 10

Since Windows 10 version 1903, the system will continue to pop up warnings when users try to connect to a wireless network using the WEP encryption protocol. The reason for the warning is that the old security protocol is about to be abandoned by Microsoft. The reason for giving up the support is that the old security protocol is no longer secure. The WEP encryption protocol, which dates back to 1997, was found to be a fatal weakness as early as 2001. It only takes 1 minute to collect packets and can be completely cracked.

Microsoft said that after giving up the support of this old protocol, users will connect directly to such wireless networks through Windows 10, and the system will report directly and fail to connect successfully. Some older routers only support the WEP encryption protocol and cannot switch to the WPA series protocol, so buying a replacement router is the best choice. It should be noted that the WPA1 protocol will also be abandoned by Microsoft, so the router supports at least WPA2 or WPA3 security protocols.
