Microsoft releases Visual Studio Code Installer for Java

Microsoft has released a Visual Studio Code installer for Java developers. There are many Java extensions available in Visual Studio Code, but Microsoft believes it is necessary to make it easier for developers to get started coding, so a special Visual Studio Code installer, Visual Studio Code Java Pack Installer, has been released for Java developers.

This package can be installed directly or as an update to an existing environment to add Java or Visual Studio Code to the development environment. Once downloaded and opened, it will fully detect if the system has basic components in the local development environment, including JDK, Visual Studio Code, and basic Java extensions. Once you’re done, you can open Visual Studio Code directly and start writing and running Java code.

Currently, the installation package supports Windows, and the macOS version is still under active development. You can download here.
