Microsoft released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18917 (20H1)
Microsoft has just begun to push Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18917 (20H1) to Fast Ring to optimize and improve some features. In the recently Insider Preview, we mentioned that the system update added a new option to throttle the bandwidth used by Delivery Optimization as an absolute value but Microsoft did not publicly explain that in this version Microsoft continues to optimize this feature. In addition, this update also focuses on improving the functionality of the Linux subsystem WSL 2, supporting the running of ELF64 Linux binaries and providing a good experience.
WSL 2 is an upgraded version of the Windows 10 built-in Linux subsystem that can be used to run a wide variety of Linux systems in Windows 10. This update Microsoft has brought support for ELF 64 Linux binaries for WSL 2, allowing these binaries to actually interact with Windows and your computer’s hardware. Of course, the WSL 2 version still provides a good user experience like the WSL 1 version, but WSL 2 provides a faster file system and better compatibility.
In the last version, you may have noticed a change in the Windows Ink workspace because Microsoft is making functional improvements to the workspace. However, the current work area improvements are gradually being promoted to Insider Preview users, so not all users can see changes after upgrading the new version. This time Microsoft’s improvements include reducing the screen space occupied by the workspace so that more applications can be placed on the screen for authoring at the same time. Microsoft said it hopes users will continue to provide feedback on this feature, and the company will continue to introduce more feature improvements for Windows Ink.
