Microsoft released KB4491101 cumulative update to original Windows 10
Earlier this week, Microsoft pushed cumulative updates to various supported versions of Windows 10, but Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) that shipped in July 2015 did not receive any updates. Now, this late cumulative update KB4491101 has been released, mainly to fix IE browser backslash and Win32kfull.sys reliability issues.
This update includes quality improvements. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:
- Addresses an issue that may prevent Internet Explorer from loading images that have a backslash (\) in their relative source path.
- Addresses a reliability issue with win32kfull.sys introduced in KB4487026.
In addition, users are advised to open the system restore function to create a restore point before installing any updates. If there is a problem after the update, it can be restored immediately through the restore point. After installing this cumulative update, it increases the OS build number to 10240.18135.
