Microsoft recommends users to not use Microsoft Edge Canary as the default browser

Some users who like to pursue new features and improvements like to use the beta version, which can provide some new features and experiences earlier than the stable version or the official version.

But since the beta version will definitely have potential problems that may affect normal use, the probability of such problems under normal conditions in most beta versions is still relatively low.

However, in terms of browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, the Canary version is available, and the Canary version is an early build that is updated every night.

This nightly build version is actually provided to the development project team and some developers, and it is not suitable for ordinary users at all from the perspective of stability.

In the latest Microsoft Edge canary provided by Microsoft, Microsoft reminds users that the version is very unstable in the default browser options.

Microsoft claims that the Canary releases are updated daily to verify and fix bugs, and of course, new features are sometimes provided for very early testing.

It is also the case that Microsoft has banned users from setting the Canary Edition as the default browser. On the Settings page, Microsoft notes that “The Canary channel can not be made your default browser. Canary builds can be unstable – they’re released daily to validate bug fixes and test brand new features.”

Of course, if the user really wants to set it as the default browser, there is still a way, that is, go directly to the Windows 10 default application to set it.
