Compared with the past, the apps must be downloaded through the Microsoft Store app of the Windows 10 or Windows 11 operating system. Microsoft quietly launched a web version of the Microsoft Store service earlier, making it easier for users to download apps through a browser.
The web version of the Microsoft Store service also follows up with the Fluent Design design style, which is closer to the Windows 11 operating interface, and is available on the domain name “apps.microsoft.com“.
In addition, Microsoft has also officially added executable file format content for download and installation via the Microsoft Store. It even added extensions for the new version of Microsoft Edge browser, no longer only limited to applications designed in Universal Windows Platform (UWP) format.
As for the Windows 11 operating system environment, Microsoft has also begun to allow companies such as Amazon Appstore, or EPIC Games Store to be listed on the Microsoft Store, making it easier for more users to download and use, and even allow more third-party browsers to settle in.
This approach is more in line with Microsoft’s previous statement that the Windows operating system will become more open, making it an important platform for many computing applications.
