Microsoft is fixing KB5012643 update causing some graphics cards to run Direxct3D 9 games abnormally

In late April, Microsoft released an optional update KB5012643 to Windows 11, which caused an exception in the .NET Framework 3.5 framework. But now the update has been found to have more problems, some users have abnormal calls to DirectX 9 API games and applications after installation.
KB5012643 Direxct3D 9

According to Microsoft, “After installing this update, Windows devices that use certain GPUs might cause apps to close unexpectedly or cause intermittent issues that affect some apps that use Direct3D 9. You might also receive an error in Event Log in Windows Logs/Applications, and the faulting module is d3d9on12.dll and the exception code is 0xc0000094.”

If users are using the following versions, they are all affected, including Windows 10 20H2, 21H1, 21H2, and Windows 11 version 21H2.
Microsoft has no plans to release update fixes separately, for the time being, so Microsoft directly uses Known Issue Rollback (KIR) to roll back the code that caused the problem to temporarily fix it.

Microsoft will automatically delete the problematic code fragments through the KIR technology. In fact, the user does not need to do anything and can automatically repair it as long as the Internet is connected. The repair time usually takes 24 hours to reach all affected users.
