Microsoft has fixed a blank issue in the Windows 10 search bar
Yesterday, many users of Windows 10 Version 1903 found that when they clicked the search box on the taskbar, a blank space appeared and nothing was displayed. This problem is not a system failure, but an abnormal problem with the Microsoft server.
was there a recent windows 10 update which broke the search functionality? the taskbar search doesn't work for me now, I have to scroll up and down the start menu like an animal pic.twitter.com/LBlYdsA7kM

The failure that occurred yesterday was caused by a failure of Microsoft on the server. Microsoft just released an announcement saying that it has fixed the problem on the server-side.
Microsoft did not disclose the specific cause of the problem, but the company said that it is gradually recovering. If the user still fails, try the following methods.
Open a command prompt in administrator mode and execute the following commands.
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search /v BingSearchEnabled /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search /v CortanaConsent /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
After the operation is complete, restart the operating system to resume normal use of the search box.
