Microsoft explains that Windows 10 will be updated monthly and feature improvements
Last week, Microsoft launched a Windows Feature Experience Pack update to the Windows 10 beta channel. This update immediately attracted the attention of websites.
Windows Feature Experience Pack updates are actually more common. Microsoft also frequently releases updates, but the feature experience pack released last week should be the first time that it comes with actual functional improvements.
None of the previously released feature experience packs has any feature logs. It seems that they are just fixing known issues, so this time the different feature experience packs immediately attracted attention.
Microsoft engineers also released instructions to explain the related issues of the functional experience pack. According to Microsoft engineers, the functional experience pack will be updated every month in the future.
“Any Feature Pack update that goes to retail customers (e.g. non Insiders) get wrapped into the normal servicing of Windows. Think “C” preview releases, etc. There isn’t any additional servicing happening,” the company said.
When we first launched the functional experience package, we thought this was a solution for Microsoft to separate the Windows 10 appearance interface from the system core and update them separately.
At present, there is still this tendency, but the performance is actually very unobvious, mainly because these functional experience packages have not brought us too many actual functions.
Microsoft engineers said that the functional experience pack will be updated every month in the future, and the functional experience pack will be provided as an optional update to all retail terminal users.
The functional experience pack will also be integrated with the existing services of Windows 10. Simply put, the functional experience pack and cumulative update are responsible for different update content.
For example, the cumulative update may focus more on repairing system errors and various problems in the future, while the functional experience package will focus more on bringing user interface improvements.
