Microsoft Edge browser is exclusively optimized for Xbox cloud gaming

Microsoft is currently actively promoting its Xbox Game Pass to provide cost-effective game services for PC and Xbox platform players. Players can play the latest masterpieces including Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite on it. Today, the number of Xbox Game Pass subscribers has reached 25-30 million, but Microsoft is not satisfied. In fact, Xbox Game Pass has already put pressure on competitors, and Sony and Nintendo have also begun to provide similar services.

Perhaps in order to further strengthen the competitiveness of its products, the two development teams of Microsoft Xbox and Edge have recently launched new cooperation. Xbox issued an announcement stating that Edge browser will provide exclusive optimization for Xbox Cloud Gaming. This feature called Clarity Boost allows the Edge browser to have better picture quality performance in cloud games. Xbox Cloud Gaming, as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, allows players to play Xbox games on PC, mobile phones, tablets, and other platforms.

Clarity Boost is a client-based scaling improvement technology that is said to improve the picture quality of cloud games at the original transmission rate. The official also provided a comparison chart, which shows that with the support of Clarity Boost, the game screen becomes clearer. To experience the improved picture quality brought by Clarity Boost, users also need to download the latest Microsoft Edge Canary version (must be 96.0.1033.0 or higher).

In fact, Edge Canary is a preview version, which is installed separately from the existing Edge browser, and both browsers can exist on the PC. Microsoft said that next year the Clarity Boost feature will be available to all users who use the Edge browser.
