Microsoft confirms that the latest cumulative update has caused Windows 8/10 to fail to connect to Bluetooth devices properly

Microsoft has confirmed in the Windows 10 update log that the latest released cumulative update may affect the normal connection of some older Bluetooth devices. But Microsoft also said that the problem is not an accident but the company intends to do so. Simply put, this is used to fix security vulnerabilities in Bluetooth connections. Some older Bluetooth devices still use outdated encryption algorithms may have security flaws, Microsoft’s repair method is to directly block users.

Bluetooth devices rely mainly on drivers to coordinate interactions with the operating system while addressing encryption or other security flaws also relies on drivers. Microsoft said that this problem must be fixed by the Bluetooth device manufacturer to launch a new version of the driver, users and Microsoft cannot solve this problem unilaterally.

If you have installed the latest cumulative update for Windows 8 and Windows 10 and found that Bluetooth is faulty, then this is expected. Users can go to the Bluetooth manufacturer website to check if there is a new version of the driver, and the laptop user can directly consult the device manufacturer’s customer service.

If your Bluetooth device is not working properly and you want to determine if it is affected by this issue, you can only use the Windows system event to view it. When starting the Bluetooth device, look for the BTHUSB or BTHMINI related logs in the Windows Log of the Event Viewer – System and check the details. If the log shows content like the following, you must update the Bluetooth driver to solve the problem. You can check the event viewer by yourself.
