Microsoft brings Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) to the Xbox App on Windows 10 PCs
Microsoft announced that it will introduce the Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) beta version to Windows PCs starting today. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers in 22 countries and regions can participate in the Xbox Insiders program and access it through the built-in Xbox App. After updating the Xbox App, users will see a new “cloud game” option
This means that users who participate in the Xbox Insiders program can run the xCloud cloud game service directly in the Xbox App. Previously, PC players had to use a browser to run it. Even if the user is using a poorly configured PC without a powerful graphics card, it can also be transformed into a gaming PC. Of course, users also need to use a handle connected via Bluetooth or USB. After starting the Xbox App, select “Cloud Game”. In addition, Microsoft has also added some new features, such as network information status, inviting others to play, and social functions to keep in touch with friends, etc.
At present, Microsoft’s xCloud cloud game service is a game streaming service provided by its Xbox One S-based blade server in its data center. It currently provides more than 100 games to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Microsoft has previously stated that it will increase the hardware level of the Xbox Series X in the future to run 4K resolution games.
Microsoft stated that its goal is to allow all players around the world, no matter where they are, to be able to play games on the devices they want. For this reason, Microsoft provides a choice, that is, you can play Xbox platform games by downloading to game consoles and PCs, and you can also play games from the cloud on Windows PCs, phones, and tablets.
Microsoft hopes that more people can participate in order to get more feedback and create a better cloud gaming experience in the future.
