Microsoft began to push OneDrive 64-bit version to more users
Based on user feedback earlier, Microsoft launches the OneDrive 64-bit version for Windows 10 Insider. Now Microsoft seems to think that the stability of this version is good after many tests.
Therefore, starting from the middle of this month, Microsoft will begin to push OneDrive 64-bit version to all supported users, and the entire process will be completed automatically.
Microsoft said that the new OneDrive version will be automatically pushed through the software update service, and the system will automatically uninstall the old version after receiving the new version to complete the new version installation.
The entire process does not require manual operation by the user and no reminder is issued, so the entire process is imperceptible to the user and will not interfere.
Users can check whether their version is a 32-bit version or a 64-bit version in the About settings of the OneDrive client. If it is a 64-bit version, the upgrade has been completed.
If the 32-bit version or 64-bit version is not displayed, it means that the old version is still the 32-bit version. Of course, only Windows 10 64-bit version users will get the upgrade.
If you don’t know whether your system is 32-bit or 64-bit, you can check it in settings, system, and about. The basic information of the system hardware will be listed here.
It is estimated that for most users, using the current 32-bit version of OneDrive has not found any abnormalities, but if you upload a large number of files, you will find performance problems.
According to Microsoft’s instructions, OneDrive 64-bit version has better performance, because the system hardware resources that the 64-bit version can access include more memory and processing capabilities.
But this may not be obvious to most users. Only when users upload large files and upload a large number of files will they find that the performance is indeed better.
