Microsoft Announces Deprecation of Windows 10 Personalization Roaming Feature
According to the feature deprecation document released by Microsoft, the Personalization Roaming feature in Windows 10 system has been deprecated, and this feature is no longer developed. Personalized sync settings refer to desktop wallpapers, slideshows, accent colors, lock screen wallpapers, etc., which could have been synced across devices through a Microsoft account.
When logging in to the Microsoft account, the settings of other devices will also be synchronized to the new device so that users do not need to repeat the settings. Now the personalized synchronization function has been deprecated. Microsoft did not specify the reason for the deprecation, but Windows 11 does not include this feature now, so there is no automatic synchronization configuration for personalization settings.
Personalized sync settings have been deprecated since Windows 10 version 21H1. However, Microsoft also emphasized that the deprecated features may be removed in future versions, and Microsoft has not yet made a decision on when the personalized synchronization settings will be removed.
When it is to be completely removed, Microsoft usually releases a new support document to explain, this feature should have no substantial impact on the enterprise. More deprecated features can be found here.
