Microsoft and NBA announce a long-term partnership to use Azure and Surface
Microsoft and the NBA (National Basketball Association) announced that the two sides have reached a long-term partnership, and the achievement of this result will bring fans a better NBA experience.
“We have a passion for innovating and improving the quality of our devices and services, and are especially excited about this opportunity to improve the productivity for coaches and players on the sidelines not to mention the ability to bring a whole new experience to the NFL fans from the comfort of their living rooms,” says James Bernstrom, Microsoft product marketing director for devices and studios.
Microsoft said that this cooperation with the NBA will provide fans with the live broadcast and on-demand services:
- Microsoft will work with NBA Digital on the Azure cloud platform to build a new direct-to-consumer platform that will use machine learning and artificial intelligence to provide fans with personalized live events and other content services.
- The NBA will also share the massive data analysis results of the NBA games and rich historical game videos with fans through Microsoft’s advanced machine learning and data analysis and processing solutions. At the same time, it will also recommend personalized content for fans according to their preferences.
- Fans, coaches, and athletes can also access more information than the previous platform built by Microsoft and the NBA. Microsoft and the NBA will actively use advanced technology to enhance the user experience of this platform.
