Microsoft adds ad content again in Windows 10 Mail and Calendar app and can’t turn off
As early as November of last year, Microsoft began to add advertisements to the mail and calendar applications. At that time, the main advertising content was Bing and Office 365 subscriptions. However, Microsoft removed the advertising module and confirmed that it was only testing, but the terms of the email application still mentioned that ads might appear. After a lapse of one year, Microsoft has brought the ad module that was deleted at that time and started to push it in full. Basically, users who use the mail/calendar application will see the ad.
The latest advertisements in the Mail and Calendar app are still targeted at non-paying users. If the user has subscribed to an Office 365 account, no advertisements will appear. However, compared with the previous ad module that has appeared this time, it cannot be closed. As long as the user opens the mail application, the advertisement will appear until the user closes the application. At present, the content pushed by the advertising module is mainly the promotion content of the Outlook mobile version. The advertising module may appear in the lower-left corner or at the top of the mail page. It’s just annoying that this ad will appear even if the user has already used Outlook Mobile, and the ad module may also block part of the content.
