MediaTek showcases WiFi 7 technology demonstration at CES
MediaTek announced in advance at its technology summit a few days ago: Wi-Fi 7 technology will be demonstrated at CES 2022 International Consumer Electronics Show.
At present, WiFi 6 is covering more and more markets, and the growth version of WiFi 6, namely WiFi 6E, is releasing more potential for home consumers through the 6GHz frequency band.
MediaTek said that WiFi 7 (the seventh-generation WiFi technology) will bring faster speed, lower latency, and improve wireless network anti-interference than WiFi 6E.
In terms of frequency bands, WiFi 7 is unlikely to open up new frequency bands but continues to use the 6GHz frequency band. More technical optimizations are needed to improve wireless network performance.
MediaTek claims that the wireless transmission speed brought by the new technology is 2.4 times that of WiFi 6E, so for consumers, this should significantly improve the performance of the home network.
This will help promote the development of 4K/8K video, virtual reality, augmented reality, and smart home, and bring home consumers a richer online life.
