May 2023 Steam Hardware Survey Report: GTX 1650 continues to top the list
Recently, Valve divulged the results of the Steam hardware survey for May 2023, illustrating the continued ascendancy of Microsoft’s Windows 11 operating system in market share and the consistent supremacy of GeForce GTX 1650 since its reascendancy last month.
Despite Windows 10 64-bit still boasting the most substantial portion of the operating system market at 60.51%, it witnessed a contraction of 0.7 percentage points over the preceding month. Concurrently, Windows 11 continued its upward trajectory, accruing an additional 0.6 percentage points, culminating at 33.99% and successively breaking historical highs. The shares of Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 8.1 64-bit both underwent a decline, decreasing by 0.11 and 0.02 percentage points respectively, plunging to 1.19% and 0.29%. Windows 7 32-bit remained virtually unaltered, persisting at a share of 0.08%.
The GeForce GTX 1650, having eclipsed the GeForce RTX 3060 last month to reclaim the top spot, held its ground this month, albeit with a marginal reduction of 0.13 percentage points to 5.85%. The GeForce GTX 1060, although seeing a slight reduction of 0.05 percentage points to 4.79%, continued to secure the second position. The third place was occupied by the GeForce RTX 3060, which saw its share augment by 0.22 percentage points to 4.73%, and considering the prevailing trend, it may potentially ascend to the second spot next month. The GeForce RTX 2060 secured the fourth position with an increase of 0.07 percentage points to 4.38%. Finally, the GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile, ranking fifth, experienced an uptick of 0.03 percentage points to 4.38%, mirroring the fourth place in terms of proportion, albeit with a minute disparity in actual figures.
In this statistical analysis, the market shares of Intel and AMD processors underwent negligible fluctuations, with Intel’s share minutely declining by 0.01% to 67.13% and AMD’s share incrementally rising to 32.87%. Regarding core count, dual-core, quad-core, and octa-core processors all experienced a dip, reducing by 0.16%, 0.58%, and 0.01% respectively, to 8.59%, 27.12%, and 19.59%. Conversely, the share of hexa-core processors, holding the premier position, persisted in its upward trend, gaining 0.29% to reach 33.78%.
