Logitech G will form a partnership with Tencent Games

Logitech G announced that it will establish a partnership with Tencent Games to jointly develop a cloud gaming handheld that will be launched to the market later this year. This product combines Logitech G’s hardware expertise with Tencent Games’ software services to support a variety of cloud gaming services. In addition, it will work with the Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce NOW teams to allow players to enjoy AAA games even when they are away from their consoles or PCs.

Logitech G said it shares the same vision in gaming with Tencent Games and is committed to ensuring a seamless gaming experience to fulfill the promise of cloud gaming. Cloud games use servers in the data center to render and then stream the game to the player’s device for interaction.

Logitech G’s leadership in PC and console gaming gear make them an ideal partner to help us realize the vision of bringing a better gaming experience to gamers around the globe,” said Daniel Wu, general manager of Tencent Games Smart Solution Innovation Lab. “Today marks the start of a new opportunity for our companies to further push the frontiers of gaming devices.

As one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing and operations, Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation and it’s why we partnered with them,” said Ujesh Desai, general manager of Logitech G. “As someone that grew up playing video games, the idea of being able to stream and play AAA games almost anywhere is super exciting, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.

In this official announcement, the details of this cloud gaming handheld, such as specifications or price, were not disclosed.

According to the plan, the product will be available in the next few months, and more information may be announced soon.
