Linux Mint 19.1 codename “Tessa” is expected to release around November/December

The Linux Mint project today announced the internal code and estimated release time for the first maintenance release of the 19.x branch. Linux Mint 19.1 base on the recently released Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS (Bionic Beaver) system. Project leader Clement Lefebvre said the new version is coded “Tessa” and is expected to meet you from the end of November to the beginning of December this year.

Clement Lefebvre wrote in a short announcement: The second release in the Linux Mint 19.x series will be named “Tessa”.Linux Mint 19.1 is estimated to be released around November/December 2018 and will be supported until 2023. ”

Linux Mint developers revealed that Linux Mint 19.1 “Tessa” would continue to support five years until 2023. Linux Mint 19 “Tara” users recommend upgrading to the 19.1 “Tessa” system with the built-in update management tool.

In addition to many improvements and new features, the upcoming Linux Mint 19.1 comes pre-installed with the Cinnamon 4.0 desktop environment, as well as software Sources internal tools with Xapp sidebar and top bar redesign. The Mint-Y theme will also be updated in Tessa, making the foreground colour darker and improving the contrast according to the community’s requirements, making it easier to read the labels.
