LG plans to launch OLED TVs in 2022

As one of the world’s largest TV manufacturers recently began to circulate information about LG’s OLED TV lineup next year. Recently, LG submitted several new models to the Korean Radio Research Agency (RRA) certification database. The most anticipated one is the 42-inch OLED TV. LG is likely to announce this TV in January 2022. Due to optimization for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X and other game consoles, many people think it is very suitable for playing games in the room.

According to TFT Central, LG’s 42-inch OLED TV belongs to its C series, and the model name should be OLED42C2xxx. The retail price is expected to be lower than the current 48-inch CX and C1 series. This product should support HDMI 2.1, HDMI-VRR, ALLM, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro or Nvidia’s G-Sync. Through the use of advanced video processing technology, it can provide a refresh rate of 120Hz at 4K resolution, but the specific specifications will not be clear until next year’s CES. LG’s 2021 OLED TVs, including the G1 and C1 series, are compatible with 4K@120Hz Dolby Vision games, and they should also continue on this product.

LG will obviously also provide larger models, including 48 inches. For desktop use, 48 inches seems a bit too big, but if used for games or watching dramas in the room, it is obviously very suitable. This is one of the reasons why this size is cheered by consumers and is valued by LG. It is understood that LG will release two new 48-inch models next year, including the C2 series and the A2 series with lower positioning and specifications.
