LG launches LG Gram 17 Fold laptop, Weighs only 1.25kg

Recently, LG officially unveiled its novel LG Gram 17 Fold laptop on its official website. As the name suggests, this laptop’s most distinct feature is its 17-inch foldable OLED screen.

This display employs LG’s proprietary tandem OLED structure, which LG claims offers enhanced stability and longevity, making it ideal for digital devices that demand extended usage, such as laptops and tablets. Furthermore, LG emphasizes that the laptop’s screen incorporates a specialized material to minimize creasing at the fold. Its screen hinge has also withstood 30,000 folding tests, ensuring its durability.

The OLED display boasts a resolution of 2560 x 1920 with a DCI-P3 color gamut coverage of 99.5%. When fully unfolded, the LG Gram 17 Fold transforms into a 17-inch tablet with a 4:3 aspect ratio. In a semi-folded state, it becomes a 12.3-inch laptop with a 3:2 screen ratio. If users are not accustomed to the touch keyboard at the bottom when semi-folded, a physical keyboard can be placed on top—a prevalent design among the few foldable screen laptops currently available.

Regarding other specifications, the LG Gram 17 Fold (Model: 17X90R) is powered by a Core i5-1335U processor, features 16GB LPDDR5 6000MHz RAM, a 512GB NVMe Gen4+ SSD, and a 72Wh battery. In terms of ports, the laptop has only a USB-C (speed: USB 3.2 Gen 2×1) and a Thunderbolt 4 port. The laptop’s dimensions are 378.2 x 280 x 9.4mm, weighing in at 1.25kg.

Currently, the LG Gram 17 Fold is only available for pre-order on LG’s online store in South Korea. It remains uncertain when LG will commence sales of this laptop in additional countries and regions.
