LG released a novel LG DualUp display with a unique 16:18 aspect ratio

Although CES 2022 has not been officially held yet, big brands like LG will definitely announce some interesting new products in advance to attract people’s interest. Following the previously announced StanbyME stand-up TV and Objet wall-mounted TV, LG has now announced an interesting new product, which is a 16:18 display.

LG DualUp

This monitor named DualUp, model 28MQ780, is already very eye-catching in appearance because it uses an unusual display ratio of 16:18, and the entire monitor looks more square than a 4:3 monitor. LG said that “A multitasking powerhouse ideal for all kinds of tasks such as content creation and coding, LG DualUp Monitor features a Nano IPS display with a unique 16:18 aspect ratio – a completely new format in the monitor market. The innovative Square Double QHD (2,560 x 2,880) resolution monitor offers the same screen real estate as two 21.5-inch displays and has a vertical split view function that lets users see more in one glance.”
In addition to this peculiar display ratio, the specific parameters of DualUp are not too far away from the scope of the normal display. It has a peak brightness of up to 300 nits, a screen resolution of 2560*2880, and covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. In terms of the stand, this monitor comes with an LG Ergo stand, which can be directly clipped to the edge of most computers or desks, saving a lot of desktop space.

With such a display ratio and color gamut, the LG DualUp display is obviously used for productivity and creative purposes. Interestingly, LG also claims that this design can reduce the frequency of users turning their heads around to see the dual-screen, and frequent head-turning is the main cause of neck pain.
LG said that they will announce more news about this DualUp display in their virtual speech at CES 2022 on January 5, so friends who are interested can also pay attention to it.
