Intel’s 12th-Gen Alder Lake CPUs will support DDR5 memory
Although Intel will not hold a press conference until September 2 to release the eleventh-generation Tiger Lake processor, there has been news about the twelfth-generation Alder Lake processor. This revelation has brought us a little surprise.
The news revealed that Intel will release the twelfth-generation Alder Lake processor in the second half of 2021. This will be Intel’s first desktop processor series built with a 10nm process technology.
The whistleblower said that it received news that the twelfth-generation Alder Lake processor will support DDR5 memory, and will not only upgrade the process technology but also adopt a new architecture design.
According to the latest news, the twelfth-generation Alder Lake processor will use high-performance large cores and high-efficiency small cores. This core design idea comes from the design of large and small cores in smartphone chips, although this design idea is already in smart Mobile phone chips have been popular for a while, but this will be the first time we have seen this design idea in high-performance products.
Intel’s previous roadmap announced that Golden Cove and Gracement cores will be commercially available in 2021. If the progress is not delayed, then we may see these two new Intel cores, but if the current architecture is directly adopted, Then Intel may use Willow Cove and Tracemont cores in the twelfth-generation Alder Lake processor.
