Intel NUC X15 laptop kits will be equipped with Core i7-12700H CPU and Arc GPU

Intel launched the NUC-branded gaming notebook NUC X15 last year. It is equipped with a 15.6-inch high refresh rate IPS screen, equipped with Tiger Lake-H45 and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 30 series mobile graphics card, and has a relatively complete interface configuration. These NUC systems may also be used by other OEMs, such as ADATA’s XPG Xenia series using the same mold.

Recently, Twitter user @momomo_us revealed that Intel is about to update the NUC X15 laptop kits product line. The new platform, codenamed Alder County, will be equipped with a Core i7-12700H and an Arc discrete graphics card. The new Intel NUC X15 laptop kits are divided into C71H and C71G, the former will be equipped with Arc A730M and the latter will be Arc A550M to replace the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 mobile versions in the previous products.

On the surface, the new NUC X15 seems to be an upgraded product. The Core i7-12700H is much stronger than the Core i7-11800H, but the actual game performance is not necessarily comparable to the old one. According to previous official Intel performance data, the Arc A730M is only 13% faster than Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3050 Ti mobile version, the higher-end Arc A770M is 12% faster than the GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile. At least in terms of game performance, this year’s NUC X15 should be no better than last year’s model. How to position the new device will have to wait for Intel’s announcement.

At present, Intel has not announced the new NUC X15, and the release time of Alder County should be related to the progress of Intel Arc A730M/A550M worldwide. Typically, NUC-branded laptops are sold by OEM partners and system integrators.
