Intel H610/Q670 supports DDR5-5200 SO-DIMM memory for use with Raptor Lake

Intel will launch Raptor Lake this year to replace the existing Alder Lake, basically confirming that the 600-series chipsets can support the new generation of processors. According to Intel’s official specifications, the current 600-series chipset supports DDR5 memory at a rate of 4800 MT/s, and the new-generation 700-series chipset should support higher rates.

Recently, the information on an enterprise-class motherboard named PH12ADI from board manufacturer MiTAC shows that it uses the H610/Q670 chipset and supports DDR5-5200 SO-DIMM memory, which is likely to be the DDR5 standard clock natively supported by Raptor Lake.
Since PH12ADI is a Mini-ITX specification, it supports SO-DIMM memory. It is uncertain whether the U-DIMMs used by the 600-series motherboards common on desktop platforms will also be the same, but in any case, at least it shows that Raptor Lake will support faster DDR5 memory. If the existing 600 series motherboards can support higher clock DDR5 memory when equipped with Raptor Lake, it will definitely be good news for users.
