Intel Appoints Kevin O’Buckley as New SVP and GM of Foundry Services
Intel has announced the appointment of Kevin O’Buckley as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Foundry Services, making him a member of Intel’s executive leadership team and reporting directly to CEO Pat Gelsinger. Kevin O’Buckley succeeds Stuart Pann, who is retiring at the end of May after 35 years with Intel, though he will remain as an advisor to ensure a seamless transition.
“Kevin brings a unique blend of expertise from across the semiconductor industry, having served as a senior leader and technologist in both foundry and fabless companies,” Gelsinger said. “As we continue building the world’s first systems foundry for the AI era, Kevin will play a critical role in helping customers achieve their goals by leveraging Intel Foundry’s unique ability to deliver process and packaging technology through a resilient and sustainable supply chain.”
Intel Foundry Services encompasses Intel’s technology development, global manufacturing, foundry customer service, and ecosystem operations, bringing together all critical components needed by fabless customers to design and manufacture chips for the AI-driven computing era.
Kevin O’Buckley joins Intel with over 25 years of semiconductor industry experience. He was previously Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering for Marvell’s Custom, Compute, and Storage Group, joining as part of Marvell’s acquisition of Avera Semiconductor in 2019. Kevin O’Buckley spent over 17 years at IBM and served as Vice President of Product Development at Global Foundries. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Alfred University and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Vermont.
