Instagram is developing a Vertical Stories function
TikTok is a short video application popular among young people. As a social media giant, Facebook has long been unable to stand it. It has begun to launch similar products. Recently, some users have discovered that it is really developing the Vertical Stories feature.
Alessandro Paluzzi shared a screenshot on Twitter, saying that Instagram is developing the “Vertical Stories” function, users can slide up and down to switch content.

It is not yet known how much impact this new feature will have on the user experience, and whether Instagram will make adjustments to the operating model of Stories in the future, such as enhancing video content and confronting TikTok.
On the other hand, new browsing methods may also affect some functions. For example, in the past, we can switch Stories by sliding horizontally. In some content, sliding vertically will open preset web links, user profile pages, or product purchase pages.
The first application that launched the Stories function was Snapchat, and Instagram Stories was a copy of Snapchat Stories. This function was later imitated by platforms such as Facebook (Stories), WhatsApp (Stories), Twitter (Fleets), and other platforms. However, with the popularity of TikTok, now even Snapchat has begun to launch a feature similar to TikTok-Spotlight.
