Infinite Loop Ends: Apple Closes Iconic Store, Offers Staff New Jobs

According to MacRumors, Apple has confirmed the closure of the ‘Apple Infinite Loop’ store, situated at the periphery of its Cupertino, California office in Infinite Loop, which has been operational since 1993. This closure is slated for January 20, 2024.

As the ‘Apple Infinite Loop’ store is located at Apple’s early headquarters (from the mid-90s until 2017, before transitioning to the newly established Apple Park), it has become a focal point of interest for numerous Apple enthusiasts. Initially operating as ‘The Company Store’, it was renowned for offering exclusive Apple merchandise like unique T-shirts, water bottles, and notebooks, thus attracting many visitors for both shopping and commemorative purposes.

Following a refurbishment in 2015, the store was renamed to ‘Apple Infinite Loop’. While it continued to sell official Apple-produced merchandise such as T-shirts, the range of products significantly differed from its early days, offering fewer items. However, it still featured unique items only available in-store, such as kiln-fired mugs in collaboration with Japanese designers and Apple-branded ballpoint pens.

Furthermore, Apple has also confirmed the simultaneous closure of an Apple Store located at the Royal Hawaiian Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, on January 20, 2024.

Following the closure of ‘Apple Infinite Loop’, Apple has indicated that the Apple Park Visitor Center, located near its new headquarters, and ‘Apple Valley Fair’ in Santa Clara Valley Fair Shopping Center, along with its online official website, will continue to serve customers.

In addition to confirming the closure of ‘Apple Infinite Loop’, Apple also emphasized its ongoing expansion of Apple Store locations. This year, new direct stores have been opened in the United States, China, India, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, and online store services have been launched in Chile and Vietnam.

Regarding the current Infinite Loop office, it is undergoing renovation with completion anticipated in early 2024. It will continue to serve as an office space for Apple employees.
