Huawei Mobile Service can be deployed on older models and coexists with GMS

A few days ago, Huawei launched the public test of HMS (Huawei Mobile Service, which includes a series of basic mobile phone apps such as phone, text message, and email). This public test task released 2 applications under test, one is Huawei Mobile services, the other is HMS Core Test.

HMS Core Test is an application installation and downloads the small application market model that integrates 6 HMS basic services. The application market includes games, Fido & Safety, Purchase, Identity, Scan, Nearby, ML and other applications.

Some test users submitted clues that in addition to Mate 30, Nova 6, Honor V30 and other mobile phones that could not be pre-installed with GMS due to the “Entity List” ban, other earlier Huawei phones can also successfully deploy HMS services. Even HMS and Google GMS can coexist within the system.

Huawei HMS service is a collection of basic services provided by Huawei. It supports smartphones that cannot use Google GMS and provides Google GMS-like functions. Currently, it includes Huawei account, cloud space services, game services, location services, wallet services, Basic services such as in-app messaging, message notification, authentication, and unified code scanning services.
