HTC will launch a flagship VR headset with color color pass-through at CES

According to The Verge, HTC is planning to launch a new AR/VR headset aimed at the consumer market. Although HTC intends to announce all the details until the CES on January 5 next year. But HTC has revealed some new features of the headset exclusively to The Verge ahead of time.

HTC is trying to make this unnamed headset a small, lightweight all-in-one machine with full AR. It looks like a pair of goggles and has front and side cameras. In addition to positioning, these cameras can also provide color pass-through functions, just like the rival Meta Quest Pro and Pico 4, bringing a mixed reality experience.

In addition, HTC said that the headset will also have up to two hours of battery life and support 6DoF controllers and gesture tracking. In order to be able to win the competition of the new generation of VR headsets, HTC also said that the headset has more features. For example, in terms of color perspective, this headset has a depth sensor, which can get a better look and feel of color perspectives, such as when wearing a headset to read text on a computer or mobile phone screen.

HTC also said that wearing comfort is also part of their efforts. The new headset is lighter and smaller than the Vive Focus 3. HTC also borrowed lessons learned from Flow’s design, making the new headset more stable to wear and not slip off the user’s face.

However, it is not yet known whether this new headset will have eye tracking like the Meta Quest Pro. HTC said that the Vive Focus 3 has an eye-tracking upgrade available for purchase, which seems to imply that this new headset will also provide eye-tracking in this way.
