Hogwarts Legacy will be launched on Nintendo Switch on November 14
“Hogwarts Legacy,” an open-world action role-playing game adapted from the “Harry Potter” series of novels, was released on February 10, 2023, and is available on platforms such as PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The game also made its debut on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms on May 5th. While it was previously announced that the Switch version would be released on July 25th, a recent official statement on social media has delayed the game until November 14th.
The official statement reads:
“Hogwarts Legacy launches on Nintendo Switch on 11/14/23. We know fans are looking forward to playing on Switch, therefore creating the best possible experience is our top priority. Thank you for your patience. Available now on PS5 & PS4, Xbox X|S & Xbox One, and PC.”
In recent years, game delays have become increasingly common, generally for further optimization to provide players with a better experience. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of “Hogwarts Legacy” originally had a release date of April 4, but in fact, the launch was postponed by a month.
Nintendo’s first-party game, “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom,” was also recently officially released. While most players have heaped praise upon it, quite a few have criticized the inadequate capabilities of the Switch, leading to game lag and frame drops. The capabilities of the Switch have been a recurring discussion, yet it appears that Nintendo currently has no plans to launch a performance-enhanced version. Given that the PC version of “Hogwarts Legacy” has higher hardware requirements compared to typical AAA titles, developers need more time to optimize the Switch version, making this delay somewhat understandable.
