Halo Infinite no longer supports graphics cards with less than 4GB of VRAM
Although Microsoft and 343 Industries confirmed in 2021 that Halo Infinite only requires a minimum of 4GB of graphics memory to run, it was not strictly enforced, and players could still play with a GeForce GTX 1060 3GB version. Of course, the official specifications on platforms like Steam do not mention this, so some players may not be aware of it.
If players use a GeForce GTX 1060 3GB version, they can still launch Halo Infinite, but they will see an error message. After ignoring it, they can enter the game as long as they lower the resolution and graphics quality. However, after the third season update, the game will not start at all if players use a graphics card with less than 4GB of VRAM. This means that the previous configuration requirements are no longer suggestions but must be followed.
Although there are still many users of GeForce GTX 1060 3GB and GTX 1050, they have been on the market for a long time and may struggle to run new games with slightly higher settings due to VRAM limitations. If players want to play new games, they may need to consider upgrading their graphics card.
According to the official Halo Infinite game configuration requirements, running the game under the minimum configuration requires an Intel Core i5-4440 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor, an AMD Radeon RX 570 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with 4GB or more of VRAM, 8GB or more of memory, and at least 50GB of storage space.
