Google Pixel 8a specifications leak

This year, Google is set to introduce the Pixel 8a, and as the launch date approaches, an increasing amount of information regarding the new model has emerged.

According to Wccftech, recent leaks have shed light on the specifications of the Google Pixel 8a. When combined with previously disclosed information, the summary is as follows:

  • The device will feature a down-clocked Tensor G3 processor, utilizing the IPoP packaging seen in the Pixel 7a, which is more cost-effective compared to the FOPLP packaging used in the Pixel 8 series.
  • The camera setup will continue with the Pixel 7a configuration, employing Sony’s IMX787 as the primary shooter, with both the ultra-wide and front cameras using Sony’s IMX712.
  • It will have the same USB Type-C port as the flagship models, supporting DP Alt mode for external display output.
  • The screen will be an OLED panel, measuring 6.1 inches with a resolution of 2400 x 1080, identical to the Pixel 7a. HDR brightness is expected to increase to 1400 nits, and the refresh rate may rise from 90Hz to 120Hz.
  • Memory options include 8GB of RAM, with storage choices of either 128GB or 256GB.
  • The battery capacity is 4500mAh, supporting 27W fast charging.
  • The device will come pre-installed with Android 14.

Reports suggest that the Pixel 8a will launch in May, with a price range of $500 to $550. Google has announced that the 2024 I/O conference will take place on May 10th, when the new model is likely to debut.
