Google Photos will end its unlimited high-quality storage service on June 1st

At the end of last year, Google announced that it would no longer provide Google Photos unlimited high-quality storage space service. Now it has been almost half a year, and the deadline is closer. Starting from June 1st, all photos and videos uploaded to Google Photos with “high quality” will be included in the capacity of Google One, sharing the same storage space with Gmail attachments and Google Docs files.

Now users only have about 3 weeks left to decide whether to back up these photos or delete some photos to free up the storage space occupied in Google One.

Google provides 15GB of storage space for free accounts, and users can also choose to pay a monthly fee to obtain higher capacity storage space such as 100GB, 200GB, and 2TB.

In addition, if you are using a Google Pixel 2 or newer phone, as long as you upload photos and videos via Pixel phones, you can continue to receive unlimited “high-quality” upload services. However, Google will often change its product strategy. Whether these users can continue to receive such preferential treatment in the future is still unknown.
