Google is expected to launch the Pixel Watch 2 this fall

Although it may not debut at the upcoming Google I/O 2023 event, Google is expected to unveil its second Pixel-branded wearable device, the Pixel Watch 2, in the autumn of this year.

Considering last year’s Google I/O 2022 event, where the Pixel Watch was initially announced, it is plausible that Google may choose to reveal the Pixel Watch 2 during Google I/O 2023, with its actual market release occurring in the fall alongside the Pixel 8 smartphone series.

The first-generation Pixel Watch employed Samsung’s Exynos 9110 processor, introduced in 2018. Google may opt for a custom wearable device processor for the Pixel Watch 2, deeply integrated with Wear OS, to accommodate a more comprehensive range of health applications.

Additionally, Google anticipates incorporating Fitbit-derived health-tracking technology into this device, potentially extending its capabilities to include blood oxygen levels and skin temperature sensing. The Pixel Watch 2 may also emulate Apple’s approach by incorporating a broader array of health data recording features.
