Google has paid $80 billion to Android app developers
According to Google ’s parent company report, Alphabet’s Q4 earnings call, the company ’s hardware division is a “multibillion-dollar” business.
The report indicates the hardware revenue is at least $2 billion. Hardware business and subscription services, such as YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium, are classified in Google’s “Other” category, and all of these services have a total revenue of $17 billion in 2019.
At present, Google already has a variety of hardware products, including Pixel phones, laptops, Nest doorbells, smart speakers, routers and more. However, Google has never released sales figures or revenue for its Pixel phones.
Google CEO Sandal Pichai recently revealed that the company has paid Android app developers $ 80 billion over the years. About a year ago, Apple mentioned that the company had paid App Store developers $120 billion.
